Munkittrick Associates has just completed a one year phased renovation of the Yale Bookstore, operated by its client, Barnes & Noble/b&n college, in New Haven, Connecticut. Munkittrick Associates served as store planner and interior designer for the renovation that involved a coordinated planning initiative in conjunction with the construction of a new Apple store on a portion of the property formerly occupied by the Yale Bookstore.

On April 5, 2012 Alain Munkittrick appeared as the feature guest on the weekly radio show River Valley Rhythms, and participated for 45 minutes in a conversation with the Show’s host, Stephan Allison.

The topic of the WESU radio show was the Richard Alsop IV House (1839), its history and its current use as the Davison Art Center on the campus of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The show was the first of 4 shows planned for the month of April that will relate to the 50th anniversary of The Friends of the Davison Art Center. (Rosemary Munkittrick, also an associate of Munkittrick Associates, will be a guest on the upcoming show, April 26, to share her involvement as past President of the FDAC.)

MUNKITTRICK ASSOCIATES COMPLETES STUDY OF ECLECTIC SOCIETY HOUSE FOR WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY

Munkittrick Associates recently completed a comprehensive architectural preservation study for the Eclectic Society of Phi Nu Theta House (1907) on the campus of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The Greek Revival structure, designed by architect Henry Bacon (who would go on to design the Lincoln Memorial a little more than a decade later), served as the grandest of private fraternity houses on Wesleyan’s campus for more than sixty years.
